A total of 10 schools in Jordan will move to distance learning for a period of 14 days, starting from Sunday, announced the Ministry of Education on Monday.
This decision came after COVID-19 cases were recorded among teachers and students.
The schools involve four public schools and six private schools across the Kingdom. The public schools are:
- Juweidah Elementary School in Amman, a student tested positive for COVID-19.
- Lubaba Bint Al-Harith Elementary School in Amman, a student tested positive for the virus.
- Telaa Al-Ali Elementary School in Amman, a teacher tested positive foe the virus.
- Sahab Secondary School for Girls in Sahab, a student tested positive for the virus.
The private schools are:
- A private school in Amman, a student tested positive for the virus.
- A private school in Marka, a student tested positive for the virus.
- A private school in Marka, a student tested positive for the virus.
- A private school in Madaba, a teacher tested positive for the virus.
- A private school in Amman, a student tested positive for the virus.
- A private school in Irbid, a student tested positive for the virus.
Jordan has recorded 266 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, 264 of which are local cases, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 5,045.
